SEARCHING THE IARDC DATABASE "The ARDC database provides access to Illinois Supreme Court decisions dating back to at least 1909 and ARDC actions dating back to 1990. "The database search page offers an excellent variety of search options. First, there is a "simple text" or natural language search. Simply enter your terms and the search function will return 'hits' based on 'relevance', rather than in order by date "A more confident or experienced searcher may choose to perform a Boolean search using the "exact search" function. The exact search function supports limited Boolean searching-"and","or", "and not", and "near". One may also expand search terms. So for example, "moral" will look for any word that has moral as a root (moral, morality, etc.) "Finally, the database allows for field searching. Below the main text box is a series of fields that a searcher can use to restrict a search by date, respondent name or ID, counsel, disposition and type of document."
